A solid piece of Eastwood history, this is the original prototype for the Eastwood Hooky Raider guitar. It's actually the exact guitar that was used for the official photographs here.
Nothing changed between this prototype and the production guitars, so you can rest assured this guitar is just as decked out as the next one. In fact, this one's got some really cool natural flame/curl on the back of its neck!
Only minor signs of wear can be seen on the guitar, as its been gently handled by our in-house staff and photographer. This is the only Hooky Raider to have been built in 2020, with serial number 2000556.
"Our first guitar to hit the Hooky Series won’t come as a surprise to anyone familiar with Hooky’s career and musical background.
Joy Division’s live TV performance of ‘She’s Lost Control’ in September 1979 for Granada TV and Bernard Sumner’s use of his customised 70’s Shergold Masquerader guitar for that performance guaranteed it’s place as an iconic part of rock music history.
As the Eastwood Hooky Series is our tribute to the original Shergold models, we’re delighted to release the Eastwood Hooky Raider Guitar as our tribute to that specific guitar.
Raiding the designs of both the original Masquerader and our Hooky Bass 6 PRO model, we’ve also added some of our own design decisions to make the Hooky Raider stand up as a model in it’s own right.
We’ve used Alder for the body to keep the overall weight down, while also maximizing the resonance."
